Jimmy Eat World

Jimmy Eat World is one of those bands that found a great deal of success early on in their career, but since seemed to have plateaued. This band holds a special place in my concert – going career, they were at my very fist show I ever attended. Green Day with Jimmy Eat World in August of 2005. I remember liking them so much, they were just an opening band, but they made jokes, they ran around the stage and genuinely enjoyed what they were doing. I was curious to see how they would do in a club venue some years later, unfortunately they did not live up to my memories. Their set was actually quite unspectacular, lead singer, Jim Adkins lacked the connection I was so excited about in ’05, and the extent of their dialog was announcing each song as they were about the preform. For the most part they sounded on point, everyone hit their que but it just seemed like they were just going through the motions.
